Made-to-measure recooling plant

Flexible, energy-saving and environmentally sound are the characteristic features of the new recooling plant installed at Lehmann & Voss & Co. with a thermal capacity of 1300 kW and a cold water temperature of 12 °C.

In order to render the system flexible for different production capacity utilizations, energy-saving, air-cooled industrial chillers with continuously adjustable output control are installed. Thanks to the refrigerant R 134a, a prerequisite to higher energy efficiency, operation at outside temperatures of up to 45 °C is possible. The energy-saving chiller outperforms a comparable cold water generation with R407c in terms of efficiency factor. Furthermore, the refrigerant used does not constitute a burden on nature and can be used in the long run without ozone depletion potential. The plant has been successfully operated for one year. The project managers in charge, Axel Maigatter and Markus Krenkler, agree in their assessment of the plant: "The modern, energy-saving technology makes a major contribution to our energy saving policy."
