"Modern thermoanalysis (TA)"

The thermoanalytical methods thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) are used to examine almost all chemical substance groups at Lehmann & Voss & Co. They are used to inspect magnesia, resins, dry liquids, additives and flame retardant raw materials in MgO- and Sb2O3 pastes, raw materials and manufactured end products and to examine film samples and reinforced plastics etc.

Fundamentals - Thermogravimetry (TG)

During heating under controlled conditions, the mass loss of a substance is measured. The mass loss allows conclusions about the chemical processes during thermal decomposition.

Fundamentals - Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)

Asample is heated up or cooled down with a constant temperature rate. Due to physical or chemical processes (melting, recrystallizing, chemical reaction) the necessary electrical power to maintain the constant temperature rate is changing. The varying power is a measure for the physical or chemical processes in the sample.
