"Materials testing"

Material testing methods are mostly used for reinforced plastics which contain carbon fibres, glass fibres, glass beads and splinters, aluminium flakes etc. as reinforcement materials. Other important material tests at Lehmann & Voss & Co. involve electrical resistance measurements for carbon fibre reinforced materials and fire testing.

Fundamentals - Materials testing

Material tests are used to determine the physical properties of materials (e.g. shear, tension and tensile stress), normally using standardised test methods. Materials testing has the task of carrying out the quality assurance of materials prior to and after production, determining the characteristics of building components and comparing materials.
