Lehmann & Voss & Co. was initially established in 1894 as a trading company. However, the company management recognized at a fairly early stage that its own production provided a useful addition to the trading business. As long ago as 1903, LuV started production of magnesium oxide. Today the company's own manufacture accounts for 40 per cent of overall turnover and primarily covers products for the plastics and rubber industry.

In 1907 LuV set up a laboratory for applications consultancy; at that time it was primarily for the cable and rubber industry. This concept has been retained up to the present day: the focus at LuV is on the development of tailor-made solutions for individual customer requirements - also including the field of LUVOCOM® high-performance compounds in which we can look back on more than 25 years' experience.
