Smart Resourcing.
The Future Works Best Together.
Collaboration is the only way forward. We maintain a close and continuous exchange with our customers and with other LEHVOSS business units – including Compounds, Magnesium Compounds, Composites, Rubber, and Coating Solutions. Together, we address the critical questions: How do we achieve the optimal balance between performance, cost, and sustainability? How can we secure our supply chains and ensure planning reliability? By working together, we create real solutions.
“Thinking around corners. Thinking outside the box. That is key. In times of shortage and disrupted supply chains, our strong networks and creative sourcing strategies are worth their weight in gold – even for hard-to-source substances like antimony trioxide.”

Flame Retardancy Moves HFFR.
The Smart Alternative to ATO.
It’s time to rethink – together. For many years, Antimony Trioxide (ATO) has been the most commercially relevant antimony compound, used as a flame retardant synergist in combination with halogenated additives. But ATO poses two major challenges.
Challenge 1: Supply shortage with dramatic price increases, as China accounts for around 50% of global antimony mining and 80% of processing – and has drastically limited exports. Challenge 2: Health risks. Free ATO powder poses a potential cancer hazard when inhaled.
The logical conclusion: Demand for flame retardant systems with reduced or completely eliminated ATO content is rising – fast. A strong alternative: HFFR (Halogen-Free Flame Retardant). The majority of modern polymer materials protected with HFFR are based on multi-component systems that preserve material properties and processability.
The LEHVOSS Solution
Under our LUVOBATCH®-FR brand, we are continuously expanding our portfolio of halogen-free masterbatches – both nitrogen- and phosphorus-based as well as intumescent systems. In addition, our LUVOGARD range offers effective solutions for flame-retardant applications, enabling the development of advanced thermoset materials with high flame resistance.
