3D printing materials
With our LUVOSINT®, LUVOPRINT® and LUVOCOM® 3F compounds we are offering you materials specially optimized for 3D printing. They enable the quality-assured manufacture of parts by additive production methods. In addition to a comprehensive standard portfolio, we also supply individual, tailor-made materials. Assisting us in these efforts are pilot plants for 3D printing in Germany, China and the USA. We work together with many technology partners so that we are also able to offer you complete production solutions.

Adapter for cleaning of extruder barrels
To ensure reliable and thorough cleaning of the extruder barrels of our compounding lines, our process engineers have developed a new process using a self-designed device. An adapter with an integrated safety device was designed (photo) and built for safe and easy handling of the device. The housing was created using 3D filament printing (FFF). LUVOCOM® 3F PPS 9938 CF (carbon fiber reinforced) was used as the material.
The requirements for the component are
- High strength and rigidity
- Dimensional stability
- Low weight (for easy handling)
- Temperature and chemical resistance
An initial prototype was created quickly and inexpensively. The design could then be tested in practice and optimizations to the housing could be easily implemented. The printed housings can be used immediately without reworking. Different customized adapters were produced for each of our systems.
Advantages of 3D printing in this application:
- Fast creation of prototypes and final components
- Time saving compared to a metal solution: 80%
- Cost savings compared to a metal solution: 70%
- Spare parts can be produced at any time No stock keeping.
